Steelite International to be sold to U.S. investor

Staff at hotelware giant Steelite International are this morning being told that the business is to be taken over by an American investor.

The Burslem firm, which employs more than 1,000 people, will today appoint John Miles, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, as new chief executive after joining forces with financial group PNC Riverarch Capital to acquire the business

In an exclusive interview with The Sentinel, Mr Miles, who joined the company in 1996 as a USA regional sales manager, has stressed jobs are safe as the new owner looks to further grow the firm, which is The Sentinel’s Business of the Year award winner.
