Ceramics One of 26 New Apprenticeship Trailblazers Announced

The Ceramic Skills Academy is delighted that the government has announced that it has accepted the bid from the ceramic industry to develop a Trailblazer Apprenticeship programme to support the development of the present and future workforce in the sector.

The group will design apprenticeship standards for the industry-led programme.

26 Trailblazers have been approved as part of the latest tranche, with ceramics singled out in the announcement, a recognition of the fine work being done nationally to raise the profile of the industry.

Skills Minister Nick Boles said: “Our Trailblazer programme allows employers across the country to have their say in training tomorrow’s workforce, helping us achieve 3m apprenticeships by 2020.”
