Working in the Ceramics Industry
The ceramics manufacturing industry is a vibrant, energetic and innovative sector. Export-led, the industry has undergone something of a renaissance in recent years and is now seen as being able to provide a wealth of opportunities for candidates looking for employment in the ceramics sector.
Ceramics is a vital contributor to both the local and UK economy, providing cutting edge, design-led, technologically advanced products from tableware and high-performance sports car components to medical implants.
To remain at the forefront of innovation and to keep driving forward, the industry needs the renewal of traditional ceramic skills such as hand-banding, lithography, kiln firing, guilding and dish making as well as attracting the skills of scientists, technicians, production managers and engineers.
A host of other specialisms including sales and marketing, IT, research and development and human resources all have a major role to play in our industry.
If you are thinking of a career in ceramics, there are opportunities within available for graduates and apprentices, as well as opportunities for short-term work-placements.
There are also full and part-time employment opportunities available for the right candidates.
Although we are not a recruitment agency for the ceramics industry, we have links into over 300 pottery companies in the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire area and can utilise our industry contacts to help signpost you to all of the major ceramics job opportunities.
